Saint-Tropez

Saint-Tropez is a commune located in the Var department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, capital of the canton of Saint-Tropez.
From the citadel of the sixteenth century to the fishing village at the beginning of the 20th century, the first city liberated during the landing of Provence became in the 1950s an internationally known seaside resort of the Riviera thanks to the enthusiasm of the artists of the Nouvelle Vague then the Yéyés and finally, a holiday resort of the European and American Jet set as tourists in search of Provençal authenticity or celebrities.
Its inhabitants are the Tropezians1 and the town is commonly called "St-Trop".
